Vendor scorecard, on the worked example

Three worksheets, and between them they answer the three questions a vendor record exists to answer. The onboarding template asks whether this supplier is actually set up: W-9, insurance with a date on it, bank details someone verified by calling a number they already had, a signed agreement and a named contact. It returns a completeness percentage and the annual spend riding on whatever is missing. The due diligence checklist sizes the work: a vendor that touches customer data, holds keys, is single-sourced or takes a large share of spend needs more checks than one that sells you paper, and the sheet says how many. The scorecard turns five criteria and your own weights into one number out of 100, so two suppliers in a category are compared on the same basis rather than on who called most recently.

Nothing in these worksheets is a figure we found somewhere. Every number comes from the inputs you enter and the method stated on the page: completeness is the five onboarding items you tick, diligence is a baseline of three checks plus points for data access, site access, single-sourcing and spend, and the score is your own weights applied to your own ratings. The defaults are a worked example, not a recommendation and not a benchmark.
